CPR Instructor Course
This page includes resources for people who want to become an instructor as well as resources for current instructors.
Looking to Become an Instructor?
Are you a school nurse or health teacher looking for a way to certify your school staff or students and make your school a CPR Safe™ School? Are you an EMS or Fire training officer who is tired of hiring outside educators for CPR training? Become a CPR and First Aid Instructor so you can teach students and staff. When you become certified as an AHA Instructor you will be able to hold your own CPR and First Aid training at your facilities and on your schedule.
This course will take approximately 4-6 hours to complete the Heartsaver component. Those who are looking to be certified as a BLS instructor will need to make an additional payment of $50 and attend a separate 1-hour training and evaluation session. Observation time is included in the class. Students will be expected to teach a segment of the Heartsaver or BLS lesson plan.
Lunch will be served for the Saturday class. Any dietary restrictions should be brought to our attention one week prior to the class.
This course requires a self-study portion that takes approximately 4 hours. This material must be completed prior to the start of the class.
If you are a current instructor looking to borrow, purchase or get answers to questions about first aid kits and other medical or training supplies click here.
** To comply with the American Heart Association recommendations, you must use (purchase/borrow) a current AHA DVD to teach the course. DVDs cost $150.
