Frequently Asked Questions by Instructors
I am a new instructor, and I want to observe a class before I get started. How do I know which classes are okay to observe?
Go to our online calendar and view the list of upcoming classes. Nearly all classes are eligible for you to observe/assist with. Even if it says “Lead Instructor needed” you will not be asked to be the lead unless you specifically tell us you want to be. To notify us that you would like to attend a class to observe or assist, please contact the CPR Manager.
I need to recertify as an instructor. What do I do?
Follow the steps listed under the recertification tab. If you have any further questions please contact us.
I submitted my roster online. What should I do with the paper copy?
Please DO NOT mail us the paper copy if you submitted your roster online. Please retain it for your records.
Is it okay to teach CPR/First Aid to my students at my school?
Absolutely! The mission of the CPR Safe program is to teach CPR to as many people as possible to make our communities safer places to live and work. As long as your students are physically able to perform the chest compressions associated with CPR, they can participate in the course.
I have a friend or coworker that would like to become an instructor. What should they do?
We run CPR Instructor courses 3-4 times per year. We encourage anyone interested in becoming an instructor to get in touch with us to be put on a waiting list. When we schedule a course, we make certain that those on our waiting list are the first to hear about it.
